The ability to manage wireless connections has been moved to Settings almost completely in Windows 10 "Creators Update". The Settings app is getting more and more options previously available only in the classic Control panel. Windows 10 allows to you to disable Wi-Fi natively using the Settings app. Having Wi-Fi on is not a problem when your Windows device is plugged in, but you might want to disable it when on battery. When enabled, having Wi-Fi on all the time can affect your battery life. Wireless network adapters exist as an external device which can be connected to a USB port.
Users can still connect to a wireless network they simply cannot edit any of the properties.Wi-Fi hardware can be embedded in your device's motherboard or it can be installed as an internal module inside the device. The method that I have used below is drastic as it prevents access to be able to edit WLAN profiles. Therefore, I set out to find a different method to prevent access to this information using a Software Restriction Policies GPO. I was still able to view these properties through a shortcut to Manage Wireless Networks and/or by right clicking on a WLAN adapter, then Status, then Wireless Properties. I found out that restricting access to the Network and Sharing Center did not prevent the ability to view and see the properties (including the wireless keys) for local administrators. My laptop users need local administrator rights on their computers so setting them as a standard user wasn't an option.
